Technical Noise LLC ("we," "us," "our") provides an online trivia and collaboration platform. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, how long we retain it, and the choices available to users.

This Privacy Policy applies to our websites, applications, services, and related features that link to or display this Privacy Policy.

  • Scores, responses, and clue interactions
  • Chat messages, presence indicators, and activity history
  • Content created, submitted, or managed by users

Technical and Usage Data

  • Device/browser information

  • Session identifiers
  • Security and fraud monitoring information
  • Moderation and abuse-prevention metadata associated with submitted content

Support and Communication Data

4. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • provide and operate the service;
  • authenticate users and secure accounts;
  • create and manage profiles, Groups, and gameplay sessions;
  • process account deletion and privacy rights requests;
  • improve the product and troubleshoot issues;
  • prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access;
  • moderate submitted content and enforce safety rules;
  • comply with legal obligations;
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

5. Legal Bases

Where required by law, we process personal information based on one or more of the following:

  • performance of a contract;
  • legitimate interests;
  • consent;
  • compliance with legal obligations.

6. How We Share Information

We may share information:

  • with service providers that help operate the platform;
  • with identity and hosting providers;
  • with service providers that help us moderate, secure, or review submitted content;
  • when required by law or legal process;
  • to protect rights, security, and integrity;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, or reorganization.

We do not sell personal information in the ordinary meaning of the term. If that changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and applicable rights mechanisms.

7. Account Deletion and Privacy Rights

Users may request deletion of their account and associated personal information through the service or by contacting us.

When a deletion request is received, we will:

  • verify the request as required by applicable law;
  • delete personal information that we are required to delete;
  • retain information we are legally permitted or required to keep;
  • explain any denial or partial denial where required.

Deletion of an account does not always require deletion of all records. We may retain limited information where necessary to:

  • comply with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations;
  • detect or prevent security incidents, fraud, or abuse;
  • resolve disputes or enforce agreements;
  • maintain internal records consistent with reasonable expectations;
  • preserve gameplay history, audit logs, or system integrity in anonymized or minimized form.

8. Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.

Our initial retention approach is:

retained while the account is active.

retained in restricted form for up to 30 days to process closure, then either deleted or converted to a deleted or anonymized record.

retained for up to 12 months.

retained while active, then up to 24 months after closure for audit, abuse prevention, and dispute handling.

retained for up to 24 months after account closure, and longer if anonymized.

retained for up to 24 months after creation, and longer if anonymized or required for abuse, moderation, or legal purposes.

retained only as long as reasonably necessary for abuse prevention, support, legal compliance, dispute handling, or system integrity, and minimized where feasible.

  • Active account profile data:
  • Closed or deleted account profile records:

  • Gameplay records, scores, submissions, and activity logs:
  • Chat and collaboration records:
  • Moderation and abuse-prevention logs:

Where feasible, these logs should use hashed or code-based representations instead of storing full rejected text.

We may irreversibly anonymize data and retain anonymized information for analytics, service improvement, and historical reporting.

9. International Users

If you access the service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where we or our service providers operate.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

  • access personal information;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • delete personal information;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • receive a portable copy of certain information;
  • appeal a denial of a privacy request where applicable.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

12. Children

The service is not intended for children under 13, depending on the product decision and applicable jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a revised effective date.
